According to Specialized via facebook: "So, Aaron came back to us after we knocked the Martini themed Specialized Shiv time trial bike frame out of the park. We have been working on this project for about a year. I was waiting for Aaron to pull together the theme details and we collaborated on the design and the details in this massively complex job. It took us a few days just to decide on a color scheme after we had come up with the design of the lines of the bike. Aaron is a huge motorsports and cycling enthusiest and he is a big Vettel fan. He always would show me the newest Vettel helmet creation and wanted to capture the essence of Vettel's helmet designs onto a bicycle frame, no problem......with a big deep breath we dove into this project. Aaron seemed to be most attracted to Vettel's helmet that had the holographic rainbow pin striping and that was definitely a key feature he wanted on his bike. He asked me if i could chrome the frame and I said it was possible but I didn't know how it would turn out because chroming is a challenge on a helmet let alone a bike frame with all it's surface changes and hard to reach places. I tried to talk him out of it but he wouldn't take no for an answer, so I had to suck it up and just get it done. After the frame was chromed it looked so cool we could have just kept it bare chrome, but we were already invested into painting this crazy design on. We settled on the "scallop" shapes to be a violet fade to shadow chrome with a rainbow flake sparingly sprayed on to tie in with the holographic rainbow pinstripes. Since this is a RedBull design we wanted to have one side of the bike be the reverse colors of the other side, RedBull calls this the rombus. So, we divided those colors being a dark midnight navy blue metallic and a royal blue chrome from side to side. The RedBull logos are hand painted, the sun being rainbow flake over the chrome with a gold candy on top and the bull being a very heavy metal flake with a red candy on top, with the outline on the bull being white paint. There are a lot of other subtle design cues we did like painting the RedBull letters down the seat tube really subtly. We did the years Vettel has won the championship with a wreath around them down the seat tube as well. We also inlayed the Specialized logo on the inside of the front forks and chainstay. This bike is the MOST complex, time consuming, and ambitious thing I have ever painted but I think the results are stellar. This bike will drop jaws to the floor every time he rides it. mission accomplished! I wonder what Aaron is going to think up for me to do on the next one, It will be hard to top this one."

Any time I see/hear/read s-works all I can think of is Skunk Works for some reason. That's where my brain always goes to first.

I used to work for a Specialized retailer. Had a McLaren Venge in the back of the Cayenne at one time. Had to screenshot this off Instagram.

And of course my Golf Livery CAAD10. There is also a full custom Gulf Livery CAAD9 and a full Martini S-W Venge out there somewhere ... now to find those pictures. Bring up bicycles and I will take the opportunity to share.

I almost ....so damn close(!) ...bought at CAAD10 in the Gulf color scheme. Still regret it.

Damn. Wonder how much that cost.

On second thought, I probably don't want to know. Considering the likelihood that it costs more than my car, it will probably just depress me.

If I could rationalize it right now I'd hunt one down just to have but I think my next will be a Cervelo S5 Ultegra.

CAAD10 is an amazing aluminum machine. I had a black/white CAAD10 and when this livery came out I swapped. Had to.

So now it looks like you need to step up the SuperSix EVO HiMod with a little Martini flavor ... and new HollowGrams eeeeeeeek

My job used to entail unrationalizing bicycle purchases. Hence the Venge in the back of my car waiting for delivery.

omfg times 1000000. Was that a stock color? I live like 20 minutes away from Cannondale's HQ in Cannondale (technically wilton). CT

I saw that at first and thought "why the hell would Mark Webber want a RBR themed bike", but then read and saw it was for someone else. Webber is a pretty avid triathlete I believe.

All this bike talk is getting me stoked for spring! It's currently 4 degrees out right now here in Michigan so I've been stuck on my turbo trainer for the last couple months.... Sufferfest makes it better but I'd much rather be out under the sun.

Also, there seem to be a number of cyclists on Oppo...I wish Velo City could get some more writers or something.

They just finished building their new buildings, so I'm going to send some applications there way for ANYthing. Tim Johnson was just here last summer doing some rides with staff, but I wish it would be Sagan stopping by. I'd be ok with a ride or some beers after a ride with him.

4/26 the season gets rolling here this year. Tris don't start till a bit later .... because hypothermia.... My MTB is torn down to frame right now... not sure what my plan is for it yet. I've been eyeing the Cannondale F29 Carbon but if I buy that before a certain ring for a certain lady I may find my self homeless (and the house is in MY name!)

My bar/grocery/drinking bike could def benefit from a livery (yes it's a fixe, but it's damn simple and doesn't break (pun not intended (but it does have a front))) What's a good red theme?

A derailleur is also very simple and won't break if you keep crap out of it. You get mechanical advantage and a wider range of achievable speed! C'mon man!

Fixies are stupid, but that is a nice bike. :)

I'm considering building a fixed gear soon. Just as a nice downtown bike. Right now if I head down I have to ride my very unique 7000 MTB (only one in existence of its color, from Trek, not aftermarket and all other components are very upgraded) or my 2013 Roubiax (which if I have to lock up, DOES NOT happen...lol)

Did you build yours or buy it as is? It pretty much hits everything I'm looking for in one. Bullhorns and front brake.

We have a shop in town that took an older S-Works frame and made a ridiculously awesome fixie. Not what I would have done with the frame set but hey.... if your stable was filled with top end bikes already why not???

I was in a similar boat. My XC bike cost me too much to ever feel safe locking up anywhere. And my downhill rig, well, not exactly a bike meant for pavement. The fixie is from State Bicycles. I've been extremely happy with it over the last 6 months. They had 4 choices of handlebars, and came with both brakes. Colors rotate though. Also the owners/team seem like pretty down to earth guys.
